“OGILVIE SILK,” Kinetic painting, acrylic on silk; 44“ x 20“ / 2016-17
Video clips of paintings installed with color sequences, sped up for online viewing. Kinetic paintings, acrylic on silk. The paintings utilize multiple layers and an LED matrix, with an opaque grid matrix, creating depth and movement. An allusion to 4-dimensional thinking, vis a vis complex color changes, moiré, viewpoint, and speed. Colored shadows and opaque and translucent color-mixing create a complex grid of multiple dimensions.
