“The Last Resort” is an interactive tapestry pivoting on the issues of singular solutions to complex issues regarding religion and geo-social pressures. The tapestry consists of a printed carpet knockoff of Leonardo da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper,’ somehow altered resulting in a mirror image and a few visual modifications. One of the primary additions to the original is an inexplicable pineapple on the table in the foreground -- a universal symbol for hospitality. Interactively, the tapestry repeats twice whatever is spoken directly to it and when the pineapple is touched, it also speaks its name in numerous languages.
